The driver of a speeding vehicle was killed Sunday morning while he tried to flee from cops in Kansas City.
Prairie Village Police said the silver Chevrolet Malibu sped away from officers who did not initiate a pursuit.
The car continued speeding east on 63rd Street just after 1:30 a.m. crossing the State line across a grassy median.

Authorities said the driver lost control of the vehicle, hit a large tree and got ejected from the car.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not immediately disclosed.
The fatality marks the 64th death related to traffic crashes in Kansas City in 2024.
