A Florida woman is facing child neglect charges for allegedly leaving her 3-year-old son unattended while she underwent cosmetic surgery.
Jessica Renteria, 25, was arrested on June 27, the day her toddler was found wandering a Doral apartment complex alone.
The boy was found sleeping on a neighbor’s doorstep at around 4 p.m.
Surveillance footage showed Renteria leaving her apartment at around 10:15 a.m. Her son left the apartment at around 1:15 p.m.
“Hey, little buddy, what’s your name?” an officer asked the boy as other officers searched through the apartment complex for the mother.
Renteria was eventually located at a surgery center, a few miles away. She had her face bandaged when brought out from the business to the police car.
She reportedly claimed she had asked a friend to babysit her son but the friend she mentioned denied she ever asked for his babysitting services.
