Rapper collapses on stage, dies while performing in Connecticut

Rapper Fatman Scoop died Friday after collapsing on stage while performing in Connecticut, authorities said.

The 53-year-old artist, born Isaac Freeman III, suffered a medical emergency while performing at the Town Center Park in Hamden.

He collapsed on stage and was rushed to an area hospital where he later died.

    He was featured in successful hits including “Lose Control” by Missy Elliot and “It’s Like That” by Mariah Carey.

    The late rapper was performing in Connecticut as part of the summer concert series and was scheduled to perform in the Reminisce Festival later this year.

    “In the coming days, we will be discussing the best ways to honor his memory and celebrate the incredible life and legacy of this brilliant artist,” the British festival posted on Facebook.
