At least nineteen students were rushed to hospitals after a crash in DeKalb County early Wednesday morning, the school district said.
The crash occurred in Ellenwood at around 8:20 a.m. when a school bus was struck by a car with 25 students onboard.
The bus landed in a ditch after hitting a pole as it tried to avoid another vehicle.

Officials initially said four students suffered minor injuries while the others were taken to hospitals by their parents and ambulances.
“All you could hear was kids screaming, frantic,” a mother of a 6th-grader who suffered a black eye and had her face swollen after the crash.
“These days, just getting to school every day is now a challenge.”
