Three people were arrested this week in connection to the fatal fall of a 17-year-old high school football player during a raucous, alcohol-fueled pool party in McAllen, Texas.
Adan De La Cruz slipped from a roof and landed near a pool, slamming his head onto cement during a roaring party Saturday.
When officers responded to the scene, they noticed lots of drinking among juvenile attendees.
“I ran towards the rear of the property as I heard numerous females and males screaming…music was playing and the disco light was on as they were having a pool party,” an officer reported.
“I observed [De La Cruz] unconscious by the pool lying on the ground on his back,”
“An unknown male was holding his head and another was conducting chest compressions. I observed blood on Adan’s body…and a laceration to the back of his head, where the blood was coming from. I could detect a slight pulse.”
The Nikki Rowe High School senior succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
Police arrested 51-year-old Jaime De La Cerda Islas, his juvenile son, and another minor for organizing the party and providing alcohol to minors.
