S.C. boy, 4, drowns in pool shortly after wandering away from home

A South Carolina boy drowned in a pool Saturday shortly after wandering away from home, police said.

Deputies with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home on Pine Street at around 7:40 p.m. after receiving reports of a child that had gone missing.

    First responders initiated CPR and rushed the boy to a hospital where he was declared dead.

    Authorities later identified the victim as Joseph Pedro Ignacio. His cause and manner of death remain under investigation.
