An Iowa gold course employee drowned in a pond Wednesday after a freak accident, authorities said.
Christopher Plowman, 38, became “fully submerged” in the pond at Pleasant Valley Golf Course and was found dead at 1:39 p.m.
Investigators with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Plowman was “trapped under maintenance equipment and had been there for an unknown amount of time.”
Friends of the victim described him as a beloved husband and father on social media.
“Chris had a remarkable way of making everyone around him feel welcome and valued,” one wrote.
“When my family was on the precipice of leaving this town, it was him and Jessica who made us feel connected to this community and the rest is history.”
