A young Missouri man’s life was cut short Friday afternoon after he got trapped underneath a lawnmower in a pond.
The freak accident occurred at around 2:40 p.m. when a 20-year-old man was driving a Bad Boy Rouge Lawnmower as part of his job at a private property.

The man was at the highest point of an embankment when he lost control of the mower that slid sideways down the hill into a pond.
Investigators said the mower’s rear tire dug into the edge of the pond trapping the victim under the surface of the water.
The victim, later identified as Brent L. Carroll, drowned. First responders pronounced him dead at 3:55 p.m.
