Virginia toddler, 2, accidentally fires gun at mom’s boyfriend

A Virginia man is clinging to life after he was accidentally shot by his girlfriend’s toddler Monday morning, police said.

The accidental shooting occurred at around 10 a.m. at a home in the 4400 block of Butler Lane in Chesterfield, Virginia.

Investigators believe the victim was preparing to leave the home when he put the gun on a chair.

    Neighbor Lisa Wood described the family as “happy and sweet”, calling the shooting a freak accident.

    “The little boy is a go-lucky little boy. He’s always playing. He’s very happy. You never really see him in a really bad mood,” she said.

    “After I went into the house, he was sitting there like a normal kid. It’s not like, he’s worried or anything like that. He still has a smile. I just don’t understand what really took place.”
