Houston news, Texas news.

A heartbreaking series of events struck a Houston family Wednesday night after an accidental, fatal shooting and a suicide claimed two brothers’ lives.

Police said a 17-year-old boy was showing his gun to his younger siblings before he left the room.

That’s when his 14-year-old sister picked up the loaded gun, thinking it was unloaded, and fired at her 11-year-old brother, killing him.

“The little kids…they go and got the gun and it was a little girl, and she shot her sibling and she saw blood everywhere,” a family friend said.

“It’s sad. It’s the worst thing that can happen to a family – to lose somebody so young. I cannot explain with words what is happening to the family,” a neighbor said.
