Man takes own life after shooting driver in road rage incident

Authorities in Georgia said that a man took his own life Tuesday afternoon shortly after shooting a driver during a road rage incident.

The 28-year-old man shot a 51-year-old driver in the arm during an incident at the intersection of Northside Drive NW and Marietta Street NW, police said.

  • He then took off in his car before crashing into another vehicle near 10th Street NW where he turned the gun on himself.

    The incidents took place near Georgia Tech’s campus urging officials to send an alert to students and staff to avoid the intersection where the initial shooting occurred.

    The deceased man’s identity is being withheld as the investigation continues.
