Authorities in Minnesota are working to determine what caused a truck driver to fail to slow down on a highway causing a deadly collision on Wednesday.

Two children and two adults lost their lives in the crash that occurred along Highway 2.

Investigators said the truck driver was traveling at varying speeds and weaving over lane lines for several miles before he arrived at the crash scene.

    Vincent and Bonnie Dow, aged 65 and 66, and Hope and Charlotte White, both 9, perished in the crash.

    Investigators noticed that the truck was lethargic and groggy right after the crash. He reportedly stated he did not recall what happened before the crash.

    A judge approved a search warrant for a blood sample from the driver to learn more about what caused the tragedy.
