Lifeless baby boy found in garbage truck by sanitation workers in Texas

Authorities in Harris County, Texas have launched an investigation after the lifeless body of a male infant was found in the back of a trash truck early Wednesday.

Deputies responded to the Chimney Hills neighborhood at around 9:30 a.m. by sanitation workers who reported finding a full-term baby boy in their truck when they stopped to compact the trash they collected.

Sgt. Sidney Miller described the baby as being between one and 30 days old and naked when found.

  • It was unclear for how long he had been dead. The medical examiner’s office will determine the cause and manner of death.

    “There are multiple things you can do if you don’t want a baby,” a neighbor said.

    “An innocent baby doesn’t deserve to be in the trash can.”

    Police are going through the trash collected with the body and reviewing surveillance footage to try to track down a suspect.
