A 24-year-old Texas father was arrested over the weekend after he admitted to giving his daughter gasoline to drink, police said.
Edgar James Bridgemon was caught running away from the 1300 block of Pine Bluff Street home where he allegedly tried to kill the infant at around noon Saturday.

The four-month-old was transported by Paris EMS to the Regional Medical Center before being transferred to a Dallas-Ft. Worth hospital.
“Bridgemon admitted to having given the infant gasoline to drink with the intention of ending the child’s life,” authorities said.
He was arrested on charges of attempted capital murder and evading arrest with his bond set at $255,000.
