Texas couple, 2 children killed when car bursts into flames after crash with street racer

Authorities in Grand Prairie, Texas said four family members were killed in a fiery crash involving street racers Saturday night.

Jessie and Lorena Rosales and two of their children, aged 6 and 13, were killed when their car tried to make a turn onto a side street and was struck by a street racer on Beltline Road.

The couple’s car flipped and caught flames; their 16-year-old son survived with critical wounds after being ejected from the vehicle.

  • Police arrested the two suspects who were allegedly street racing in two Dodge Chargers at the time of the crash.

    “Devastating and very hurtful because a lot of people were trying to help them, and they couldn’t get close to them,” a witness said.

    “I haven’t been able to sleep well hearing them and not being able to get them out, it’s very hurtful. I wish I could help those people. It’s an emotional and tragic event.”
