Ridgefield news, Connecticut news.

A Connecticut man has allegedly admitted to killing and mutilating his octogenarian father over the weekend, authorities said.

Ridgefield Police said Steven James Uricchio, 31, called 911 to confess after brutally killing his father Marc Uricchio, 83, at around 1 a.m. Saturday.

Officers and paramedics found the suspect outside the home sweating with bloodied hands. He directed them to an upstairs bedroom where his father layed dead.

“Uricchio stated, ‘I murdered him.” Uricchio then paused and stated, “really, really badly,’” an arraignment report reveals.

Officers found the victim’s body facing the doorway in a pool of blood and recovered a fish-filleting knife from the scene.

He allegedly told doctors he was prescribed medication for mental health issues but had not taken the medication “in a month or two.”

“There is a significant mental health history here, about which I’ll provide additional information to the state,” defense attorney William Dow said in court.
