A Pennsylvania teen was caught with bloody hands after allegedly stabbing a 10-year-old schoolboy to death Thursday morning.
Troopers said James C. Campbell, 13, was found with blood on his feet and pants after he allegedly stabbed 10-year-old Hunter Meyers several times in his head.
Police responded to Campbell’s home in Donegal Township at around 6 a.m. Thursday and found Meyers’ body in an upstairs bedroom.
Investigators revealed that Meyers was an overnight guest at his alleged killer’s home before the murder. The boys were enrolled in Agora Cyber Charter School.
Campbell, who also had lacerations to his right hand, appeared before a judge 11 hours later and was charged as an adult with homicide and first-degree murder.
“It’s very difficult to investigate any loss of life, and our sympathies and our deepest regards go out to the family of the young boy that was killed,” said Trooper Steve Limani.
“Right now, I think we have two families that, basically, one lost their loved one, another one is incarcerated and there’s a lot of ‘why would this happen?’”
“And I know that the general population might want to know why, but we really don’t have a definitive ‘why’ that we’re able to give you right now.”
