2 men shoot each other dead during road rage incident in front of kids in California

A road rage dispute turned deadly last weekend when two men fatally shot each other in front of young kids, California authorities said.

Jonathan McConnell, 38, and Aaron Harris, 37, died following a gunfire exchange outside the Joy Lounge on Highland late Saturday.

McConnell was reportedly riding a motorcycle and splitting lanes on the freeway when he struck Harris’s sedan.

Harris, who was with his two children, followed McConnell to the lounge’s parking lot and an argument ensued.

  • “Harris stopped his vehicle and shouted threats at McConnell,” the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Office said.

    “When McConnell approached the vehicle, Harris fired a gun at McConnell and McConnell returned fire.”

    The two me succumbed to their injuries. Police said a bystander was struck in the hand.

    “We all get angry on the roads sometimes, especially these days there’s so much traffic out there and so many things going on,” sheriff’s spokesperson Mara Rodriguez said.

    “But this is a great example of how things can go so wrong so quickly.”
