An overnight house fire killed four people and two dogs in Plant City, Florida, authorities said.
Firefighters were at the scene at around 12:10 a.m. after receiving a call from the homeowner reporting flames and smoke inside the residence.
Three people and five dogs were trapped inside the home when first responders arrived.
The victims were removed through a bedroom window but none of them survived.
“Despite their swift and valiant efforts, all of the victims on the scene perished,” fire officials said.
A fourth fatality was also confirmed but little information about the incident was immediately available.
Two dogs perished in the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
