A pregnant Atlanta teen was found dead in a wooded area Monday, hours after she left her home with a stranger, police said.
16-year-old Mia Campos’s death has been ruled a homicide after her family found her body using a cell phone tracking app.
Gwinnett County deputies found Mia’s body in a wooded area off the side of a Loganville road.
“I found my daughter laid face down. It was hard. I knew it was something wrong – her lips, her bleeding nose. They murdered my baby,” Mia’s devastated father said.
Police arrested Mia’s ex-boyfriend Jesus Monroy on Wednesday charging him with giving false statements to police.
Investigators said that Monroy is not currently a suspect in Mia’s murder.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Gwinnett County detectives at 770-513-5300.
