A Tallahassee, Florida man is in federal custody after prosecutors said he made violent and graphic threats against President Joe Biden and a Secret Service agent.

Jason Alday’s threats came into the spotlight when he told a healthcare provider last month about his plans.

“I don’t like President Biden. I want to kill him, slit his throat,” Alday allegedly said.

Gadsden County Sheriff’s deputies and a Secret Service agent visited Alday’s home a few days later to question him about the statement.

At first, Alday denied threatening Biden before getting agitated and admitting to hate the President.

After the questioning, Alday took to social media where he continued to make concerning statements about Biden and the Secret Service agent who had questioned him.

Alday’s lawyers told the judge that his health condition prevents him from carrying out the alleged threats, asking for his release.

His mother also testified that he struggled with mental illness and was depending on her as a caretaker.

The U.S. Magistrate judge approved a motion to keep the suspect behind bars, describing him as a threat to the community.

“The evidence in the case is strong and provides probable cause to believe Defendant committed the offenses as charged,” the order reads.

Alday faces three federal charges of making threatening communication, making threats against the President of the United States, and making threats against federal officers.
