New York City news, New York news.

A 3-year-old New York City girl was fatally struck by an SUV while crossing a Harlem road with her mother and three siblings Thursday evening.

Jaynelyse did not survive the crash that occurred at the corner of W. 135th Street at Lenox Avenue at around 7:30 p.m.

She, her mother, and two brothers, ages 2 and 4-months-old, were crossing the road when a Nissan Pathfinder struck her and her tot brother.

“The guy who hit her picked her up and brought her into the hospital. He was with his family but he was not going to leave her,” a witness recalled.

The girl died from her injuries while her brother survived with minor wounds; the children’s mom and baby sibling were not hurt.

“There’s no words. There’s no words for it,” the girl’s father said.

The victim’s paternal grandfather said her mom “has been crying, crying” since the crash.

“Last night, a mother experienced the very worst day of her life,” said Elizabeth Adams of Transportation Alternatives.

“While she was crossing the street with her three young children, a driver hit two of them and killed her 3-year-old daughter.”

“She watched as her daughter died in the hospital across the street. Harlem deserves better from its leaders, and Harlem residents deserve truly safe streets.”
