Worker electrocuted while setting up for Indiana fair

Authorities in Howard County, Indiana have identified the victim of an electrocution at the 4-H Fair as a Venezuelan man working for a food vendor company.

36-year-old Jose Julian Garcia Oropeza was helping other workers set up for the fair on Saturday when the group got shocked by electricity.

Oropeza lost consciousness after the shock and became unresponsive.

    Howard County Coroner’s Office confirmed the victim’s identity adding that he was setting up one of the food vendors at the County Fairgrounds when tragedy struck.

    An autopsy determined Oropeza’s cause and manner of death as electrocution.

    The incident is being investigated by the Howard County Coroner’s Office, the Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the County’s Sheriff’s Office.
