Kentucky gunman, 21, took own life during police chase after opening fire at birthday party killing 4

The suspected gunman accused of carrying out the first mass shooting in the history of Florence, Kentucky reportedly took his own life during a police chase.

Chase Garvey, 21, showed up uninvited at the pool party and started firing at the attendees, many of whom he knew.

Garvey then fled the scene in his vehicle and led police on a chase that ended when he shot himself in the head and veered off-road into a ditch.

The suspect was declared dead at St. Elizabeth Covington.

    The slain victims were identified as Melissa Parrett, 44; Shane Miller and Hayden Rybicki, both 20; and 19-year-old Delany Eary.

    Neighbors described Parrett as a great and amazing woman.

    “She is so wholesome, so welcoming, and she is the best person I’ve ever met,” one added.

    Last April, the suspect was reportedly sentenced to five years of probation after he admitted to raping a 13-year-old girl when he was 18.
