A Maryville, Tennessee man is dead after a freak accident involving fireworks on the Fourth of July.
Blount County Sheriff’s deputies were at Evergreen Farms Lane at around 11 p.m. in response to reports of an unconscious person.
Matthew Sellars was reportedly shooting fireworks with a group of his friends when one exploded into his chest.

Deputies found three individuals performing CPR on the injured man who sustained a gaping hole in his upper body and was bleeding on the ground.
Despite all efforts to save Sellars’ life, he died at 11:30 p.m. at Blount Memorial Hospital.
No charges or citations were issued in connection to the tragic incident.
