A 16-year-old girl was fatally shot last Thursday, just two weeks after she gave birth to a baby daughter.
Nashville Police officers responded to reports of the shooting at around 9 a.m. and found two victims with gunshot wounds.
One of them, Bra’Anna “Lady” Harbison, was declared dead at the scene, authorities said.
The other, a 16-year-old boy, remains hospitalized as he faces homicide charges in connection to Harbison’s death.
Bra’Anna’s aunt said the family’s focus is on her newborn daughter.
“We have a missing piece to our puzzle now, that’s how it felt, that’s how it feels,” she said.
“She’s always singing, she’s always dancing, always laughing, and to think a monster would take her life right after becoming a mother is just unimaginable.”
The family has launched a GoFundMe page following the tragedy.
“The baby already looked just like a little Lady, I mean she looks just like Lady,”
“I said from here on out, it’s the baby that we have to focus on so that [Bra’anna’s] legacy doesn’t die.”
