An Indiana man was arrested on murder charges after he was found seated inside a parked vehicle next to his wife’s body.
Madison County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a call about a suspicious vehicle.
The caller spotted the car parked behind Forrestville Cemetery in Summitville, and knocked on the window but received no response from the two occupants.
When deputies arrived, they discovered a deceased woman in the driver’s seat of the car and a man with bloody hands sitting in the passenger seat.
47-year-old Michela D. Hinson was pronounced dead at the scene from “multiple gunshot wounds.”
Police later determined that she had suffered five gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen.
Jeremy Hinson was arrested and booked into the Madison County Jail. A semi-automatic handgun was reportedly in his waistband at the time of his arrest.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
