A Kentucky man allegedly told detectives he “had a job to take both females out” after fatally shooting his wife and his mother-in-law in the head last week.
Michael Hunt, 32, allegedly made the bizarre confession after executing Emily Hunt, 33, and her 56-year-old mother Beth Simmons Friday night.
Deputies in rural Pleasureville, Kentucky responded to reports of a shooting at the residence at around 8:40 p.m.
The older victim was declared dead at the scene, police said. Her daughter succumbed to her injuries the following day.
Hunt was arrested Saturday after admitting to killing the two women, calling it “his job.”
Neighbors recalled hearing the shots on the night of the massacre.
“I heard the shots. There was like six bangs that went off. I thought it was the kids with the fireworks,” Rita Stout said.
“We moved out in the country, we thought, you know, to get away from stuff like that. We lived in a subdivision, and now it’s this.”
