Shelby County news, Kentucky news.

A Kentucky man allegedly told detectives he “had a job to take both females out” after fatally shooting his wife and his mother-in-law in the head last week.

Michael Hunt, 32, allegedly made the bizarre confession after executing Emily Hunt, 33, and her 56-year-old mother Beth Simmons Friday night.

Deputies in rural Pleasureville, Kentucky responded to reports of a shooting at the residence at around 8:40 p.m.

The older victim was declared dead at the scene, police said. Her daughter succumbed to her injuries the following day.

“We moved out in the country, we thought, you know, to get away from stuff like that. We lived in a subdivision, and now it’s this.”
