A Kansas City child died from severe injuries after he was left in the care of his godmother while his mom went for her first day of work at Amazon.
Armoni Carr, 20, received a disturbing text from the godmother at around midnight Saturday saying her 7-month-old son Giovanni Carr was sick and “breathing funny.”
The mother would later learn that little Gio suffered trauma to his brain and eyes, fractured ribs, a lacerated spleen, an injured liver, and burns to his foot.
He died from the injuries Thursday, his distraught aunt said adding that the godmother had volunteered to watch the baby she allegedly abused to death.
“He was always smiling, always happy,” Thea Harris said. “This is so unfair to a 7-month-old.”
“There’s no way he could have harmed anyone or anything. He really did not deserve this…this is something so unbearable.”
The suspect was not identified since she has not yet been charged in connection to the death.
