Evansville news, Indiana news.

An Indiana girl died Sunday after she was abused and bitten by her mother’s juvenile boyfriend, police in Evansville said.

Octavio Aquino, 4, had very little brain activity and was not breathing when her mother, 23-year-old Destiny Rhoades, found her inside their home.

16-year-old Christian Gonzalez, the mother’s boyfriend, was arrested for allegedly abusing and biting the girl a day before her death.

Rhoades told detectives that she had confronted Gonzalez about the bite mark on her child and that he responded it was a cat’s bite.
