Seven children and two adults were hurt Thursday afternoon when a daycare van slammed head-on into a semi-truck in Des Moines, Iowa.
West Des Moines Police said the collision took place shortly before 2 p.m. near EP True Parkway.
A daycare van traveling north on South 88th Street when the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with a semi traveling on the southbound lane.

The van was carrying the driver, an adult, and ten children at the time of the accident.
The semi had two male occupants and a load of drywall; two adults and seven children needed hospitalization for non-life-threatening wounds.
An ongoing investigation will determine the cause of the crash.
