A California woman was arrested last week after she fatally stabbed a sleeping man because he “spit on” her sister.
Sylvia Ortega, 28, was charged with one count of first-degree murder in connection to the June 2 slaying of a man sleeping inside a parked vehicle.
A witness who was with the male victim inside the vehicle said Ortega attacked him through the passenger door at around 11:20 a.m.
The suspect was reportedly yelling “You spit on my sister!” when she opened up the door and attacked the victim.
“When the suspect backed away from the victim and the vehicle, Witness 1 noticed that the victim was bleeding,” police said.
“Witness 1 attempted to use her phone to call 911, but the female suspect grabbed her phone, and threw it onto the ground.”
Another witness described the suspect as “always carrying a knife” and stabbing people in the area.
