A Florida mom-of-three was killed in a “horrific crash” Tuesday after she crossed paths with a drunken bartender running late for work.
Asnubil Escobar, 25, was charged with Vehicular DUI homicide over the death of Tiffany Alexander, 29.
Investigators determined that Escobar was five times over the legal limit when she ran a red light and T-boned the vehicle carrying Alexander and her three daughters.
“It boggles my mind,” said Police Chief Matt Tracht.
The older child, a 7-year-old, suffered injuries in the crash but is expected to survive.
Escobar, who also faces charges of DUI with property damage, DUI causing injury, and DUI with blood alcohol of 0.08 or more, admitted to having her last drink at 1:30 a.m.
A GoFundMe supporting Alexander’s family has raised over $65,000.
