Authorities in Georgia have identified the four victims of a deadly wrong-way crash that occurred Sunday on Interstate 75 in Bartow County.
Dakarai and Erin Mason were returning home from a church function with three sons when their Kia van left the roadway and crossed the median colliding with an oncoming Chevy Tahoe and a Toyota 4Runner.
The crash triggered a chain reaction involving at least two more vehicles. The couple and their 14-year-old son Brandon Crawford perished in the accident.
A 21-year-old Kennesaw State University student, Aimee Odom, was also killed. She was in another vehicle.
Six other victims were injured including the Masons’ two sons, aged 6 and 5.
“There’s not really words you can say to make anything better like that,” a witness said.
The Mason family launched a GoFundMe page to help raise money for the deceased members’ funerals and cover the survivors’ medical costs.
“We continue to ask for prayers, as we know that there is strength in numbers,” the page states.
“Our family will undoubtedly need them in the coming days, weeks, and months as we navigate the planning of multiple funerals and in dealing with such a tragic loss.”
