Indiana boy, 10, takes own life after relentless bullying; parents alerted school 20 times

The parents of an Indiana boy said that they contacted their son’s school 20 times about the relentless bullying he was enduring up until the night he died.

Sammy Teusch took his own life on May 5. His parents said that he suffered from bullying that started verbally last year before it turned physical.

The fourth-grader was bullied at school, on the bus, and on Snapchat despite the limited access he had to his phone.

  • “They can’t just say they have zero tolerance because that doesn’t mean there is zero tolerance about bullies,” the boy’s grandmother said.

    “Their zero tolerance means that they don’t have responsibility for it.”

    School superintendent Dr. Harold Olin denied that reports of bullying were ever submitted by the parents.

    “People trust their kids to the school, but now that trust is breaking down,” the grieving grandmother added.
