A TikTok star was found dead, hanging inside her New York City apartment Saturday night.
Eva Evans, 29, who had over 300,000 followers on TikTok was found dead from an apparent suicide by a friend who last saw her alive Friday.
“Yesterday, my family received news that our sweet, fabulous, creative, caring, hilarious Eva, my beautiful sister, has died,” Lila Joy Baumgardner said on Instagram.
“After 24 hours, I still find myself in a constant cycle of denial and acceptance, so I know how unbelievable and hard to process this news will be.”
The friend who made the discovery told police that they were not aware of Evans suffering from mental or emotional issues.
Evans reportedly left a note behind and had no visible signs of a physical struggle or suspicious injuries.
Actress Julia Fox was among many mourners to pay tributes to the young TikToker, calling her a “New York icon.”
“I always saw her like a little sister and I knew she looked up to me. She passed away. She was so young. Still had so much to do in life. But she lived life to the fullest.”
