An Ohio man is accused of a despicable crime after the dismembered remains of his elderly father were found in two separate locations late last month.
Homicide charges are expected against Edgar Keiter Jr., 52, who was seen at his father Edgar Keiter Sr.’s apartment shortly before his death in mid-April
Keiter Sr.’s legs were found in the driveway of a neighbor on April 22.
The remains were identified through a serial number from a knee replacement surgery.
A search of his apartment unveiled efforts to clear out a crime scene including a removed carpet, traces of bleach, a rope, a tarp, and a saw blade.
Additional remains were discovered at a storage unit linked to Keiter Jr. and the blood-stained carpet was found in a garage near his home.
Keiter Jr. was initially charged with gross abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence. His bond was set at $1 million.
