A Pennsylvania woman was killed in a freak accident while walking on the sidewalk near a construction site on Friday.

Police said that a runaway metal cylinder from a construction site at the Peterson Events Center in Oakland struck the woman in the head fatally wounding her.

“Obviously, there is a construction site here, a large, metal steel drum that escaped from the construction site, rolled down the hill, broke through a section of fencing,” said Pittsburgh Public Safety Public Information Officer Emily Bourne.
