An autistic Pennsylvania boy was found dead, face down in a pond near his family home earlier this week.
Kennett Township Police officers responded to reports of a 5-year-old who went missing from his home in the 600 block of Chandler Mill Road at around 2:45 p.m. on April 29.
After an extensive search of the area, police located the boy’s body submerged in a pond on a neighbor’s property.
The child was declared dead at Dupont Hospital in Delaware despite first responders’ efforts to revive him.
“Before the requested backup arrived, Kennett Township Police found the missing boy face down in a pond on a neighbor’s property,” authorities said.
Anyone with information about the tragic incident is asked to contact Kennett Township Chief Matt Gordon.
