A Houston family is pleading for the public to help identify the suspect who shot their 10-year-old son at a playground two weeks ago.
Calvin “CJ” Jackson Jr. is said to have a “painful recovery” after he was struck by a bullet on March 26 when a fight broke out inside an apartment near Tidwell Road and CE King Parkway.
The boy who was not targeted by the shooting suffered two gunshot wounds. His lung, liver, intestines, and spinal cord all sustained damage.
Police have yet to make an arrest in the shooting with CJ’s family requesting that anyone with information about the incident come forward.
“Speak up please because if they did it to my son, he’ll do it to anybody. No one is safe,” CJ’s mom Dashaydarion Jackson said.
The distraught mother said that faith is keeping the family “mentally sane” after the tragedy.
“I think that’s what we’re holding onto as well and when we look at CJ, we see a miracle.”
