‘It’s a nightmare’: Tennessee mother accidentally shoots daughter when loaded gun discharges inside purse

A Tennessee mother is devastated after she accidentally fired a shot killing her teen daughter over the weekend.

DeAnne Radley said that she was looking for her keys in her purse when a loaded, unsecured gun went off inside her bag at around 10 p.m.

“I didn’t know my gun was loaded in my purse and it shot through my bag. Then I saw the blood and oh God….”

13-year-old Dearria was hit by the bullet and succumbed shortly later at a hospital.

  • “It’s a nightmare. Words can never describe the pain that I feel,” the mother added.

    “My world is just falling apart. I loved that little girl so much.”

    Radley remembered her daughter as a girl who loved her family and loved to sing.

    “I want her to be remembered for her angel voice and her beautiful eyes. She’s such a beautiful girl,” Radley said.

    No charges have been filed in connection to the shooting that is still under investigation by the Nashville Police Department Youth Service Division.
