The body of a missing University of Missouri student was pulled from a Nashville river Friday, two weeks after his disappearance.
22-year-old Riley Strain was found in the Cumberland River eight miles from where he was last seen alive on March 8 after he was kicked out of a local bar.
His body was located by barge operators working to remove an object from the river, Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake said.
“They noticed what appeared to be Riley Strain pop up. The medical examiner’s office reviewed the body and we’ve confirmed that it is Riley Strain,” Drake said.
The grim find ends two weeks of search and national attention into Strain’s disappearance.
Authorities said that foul play was not suspected in Strain’s death.
