An Alabama toddler was mauled to death Friday after he wandered into a neighbor’s yard where dogs roamed free.
Mark Alan Partain, 2, was attacked by at least two dogs after he wandered from his New Hope home and opened the neighbor’s gate.
The neighbor noticed that his gate was open and spotted Mark laying unresponsive in front of the dog pen.
“He was laying on the ground there in front of the dog pen, and he wasn’t moving or nothing and the gate was open,” neighbor Ricky Clark said noting that his two dogs, a Husky and a German Shepherd/ Golden Retriever mix never attacked anyone before the tragedy.
“There’s a brown bulldog around in the neighborhood, and it was running around in the yard. When I got my dog put up, I saw her running out of the yard, and I don’t know if she had anything to do with it.”
Meanwhile, Mark’s distraught mom posted on Facebook about her anguish adding that she did not blame the neighbor for what she called a “very tragic accident.”
“The hurt is unreal. I don’t even feel like I’m living in reality. My children’s hearts are so broken. I’d like to thank everyone that has messaged, prayed, or sent kind words.”
