Alabama toddler, 2, mauled to death by dog four days after similar incident

A 2-year-old north Alabama boy died Friday after he was mauled to death by a dog, police said.

Emergency medical services were called to T.R. Christian Road in New Hope just after 5:20 p.m. Friday over a child being bitten by a dog.

Madison County Coroner Tyler Berryhill said the toddler was sadly pronounced dead at the scene after suffering mortal bite wounds.

The tragic incident comes four days after an old English Bulldog attacked and killed 4-year-old Beau Clark in Hartselle.

    The dog attacked Beau despite being familiar with him. The incident left the community and the first responders who witnessed the scene devastated.

    “We are overwhelmed with the support from our community and even complete strangers,” the family said.

    “We’ve just sat and cried as people have shown up to love us and we feel so undeserving of this love.”
