Illegal migrant with long rap sheet arrested for fatal shooting of Maryland baby

An Illegal El Salvadoran migrant was arrested this week and charged with the murder of a 2-year-old boy, authorities in Prince George's County said.

25-year-old Nilson Trejo-Granados stands accused of shooting little Jeremy Caceres and killing him on February 8.

Jeremy was out on a walk with his mother on Kanawha Street in Langley Park when they were caught in crossfire between two groups of men.

  • ICE and police records show that Trejo-Granados had a long criminal history including repeated theft charges.

    He was arrested twice and released back into the community after the ICE unsuccessfully lodged an Immigration Detainer that was not honored by the police.

    Trejo-Granados is among five suspects including minors arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Jeremy.
