Pregnant woman found dead inside Pa. home in ‘suspicious circumstances’; 2 children unharmed

Authorities in Crawford County, Pennsylvania are investigating the death of an Amish woman as a “criminal homicide” after her lifeless body was discovered by her husband early Monday.

23-year-old Rebekah A. Byler was six months pregnant when she was found dead at her home on Fish Flats Road in Sparta Township shortly before 12:30 a.m.

Lt. Mark Weindorf did not disclose details surrounding the mother’s death but said “It looks like suspicious circumstances.”

    “PA State Police are aggressively investigating all available leads,” authorities said in a statement.

    “The public is being asked to report any suspicious persons, vehicles, or activity in the area of Fish Flats Road to the Corry barracks at 814-663-2043.”
