Lifeless woman’s body with bruises to face and knees found in Bronx park

A deceased woman with bruises to her face and knees was discovered in a Bronx park early Friday morning.

The NYPD rushed to Walter Gladwin Park in East Tremont at around 5 a.m. after a park-goer made the gruesome discovery of a woman’s body near the corner of E. 175th Street and Arthur Avenue.

  • The victim was reportedly wearing a blue jacket and red sneakers were found near her body. She was holding a white plastic bag when found alongside a path near a green shipping container.

    The woman was laying unconscious and unresponsive with dead leaves sticking out of her hair when discovered, police said.

    She was declared dead at the scene. Her cause and manner of death are pending autopsy results.
