At least 7 firefighters injured following explosion of natural gas truck in LA

Authorities in Los Angeles said Thursday that at least seven firefighters suffered injuries following an explosion involving a natural gas truck in the Wilmington area of the city.

Three of the injured were taken to the hospital including two in critical condition, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

    LAFD spokesperson Nicholas Prange said that pressurized cylinders inside the truck exploded as firefighters approached the scene.

    “There is still at least one pressurized cylinder left at the scene and we are waiting on a HAZMAT team to assess the situation,” he said.
