Authorities in Troy, Vermont have identified the body found in a container on Tuesday as a woman who went missing over the last weekend.
29-year-old Kayla Wright was shot in the head and killed before her body was placed in a large container and left on a sand bar in the Mississippi River near Big Falls on River Road.
A home on Vermont Route 100 in North Troy has been searched in connection to Wright’s killing and three people were taken into custody on conspiracy to distribute illegal drugs.
One of the three individuals, identified as Jakiy Tramaine Corey Keith, told detectives that Wright had been staying at the home and was killed during an argument over fake cash by a suspect only identified as “Kash KD.”
