An 18-month-old girl was fatally struck by a car while playing in a parking lot in Houston late Tuesday.
The victim was struck by a driver trying to enter the backside of the Hometown Studios hotel on Guhn Road near Highway 290.

Police said the driver stopped and remained at the scene as first responders performed CPR on the child who died at a hospital shortly afterwards.
“It’s definitely a tragedy, unfortunate incident, very sad. Exactly the facts that lead up to it, we’re still working on that. Prayers for the family on an overall tragic scene,” HPD Commander Michael Chaney said.
